This guided tour introduces three artists currently working in the City of Geneva’s studios at L’Usine. The visit is led by Clara Chavan and Camille Zaerpour, curators and co-directors of the independent art space Forde.

Salomé Engel works across sculpture, installation, and painting. Through setups where objects, materials, and narratives intersect, she questions systems of representation and the conventions shaping our relationship with reality. Her installations displace usage and context, creating situations where the everyday shifts into the fictional, the poetic, or the absurd. Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions at Marytwo in Lucerne and at Taon in Paris.

Niels Hung is a painter who holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Visual Arts from HEAD – Geneva. For the past two years, he has served as an academic assistant for the WORK.Master program. Based in Geneva, he was awarded a grant from the City of Geneva’s Contemporary Art Fund, which enabled him to secure a studio at L’Usine from 2025 to 2028. This space brings together a community of artists close to him, offering a clear springboard for his practice. His work spans painting, writing, and installation, exploring the processes of image production, circulation, and materiality. Through collection, archiving, and recomposition, he seeks to tension the relationship between language and painting, while questioning how images shape our perception of the contemporary world.

Clara Roumégoux lives and works in Geneva. Her practice unfolds through installation, moving image, printmaking, and sculpture. Using these mediums, she investigates modes of production and communication. Her work borrows from established languages and employs everyday forms—chairs, curtains, shopping bags, or architectural fragments—which she subverts by altering their scale, rhythm, or function. These objects appear not as neutral elements but as traces of systems regulating contemporary uses and environments. Her work has been shown at Forde (Geneva), Salle Crosnier (Geneva), Portland (Zurich), and the Inside-Out Art Museum (Beijing).

Salomé Engel and Clara Roumégoux also participate in the Art Tables project, organized by the Geneva Art Week committee. This initiative presents selected emerging artists from the Geneva art scene in a series of restaurants across the city.
